Ordinary Everyday Heroes.

We are now beginning to look at and discuss, what makes a hero? You have all identified some very good ideas and thoughts around the qualities that a hero demonstrates. You have all identified correctly that heroes can be ordinary everyday people, or someone who you admire.
This week we are going to carry out a mini research digital task about a personal hero or someone that you admire.
We will be learning to use the SEX-Y paragraph structure in our written answer, and you will be able to present your work in a creative manner.

Wild Boy Brando Yelavich and the Challenge.

Welcome back to Term 2. I hope you have had a good break and perhaps had a few adventures of your own. In our first week back in class we will be working to take on board the feedback given on your  written work responding to the article about Brando Yelavich and completing the hero cycle journey of his trip. You will also work with a partner to complete a poster about a hero of your choice and to show understanding of the hero cycle. This term we will also work to increase our reading skills and show understanding of what we have read. Once a week we will work with a different text to learn to identify the purpose of the text, and who the intended audience is. We will identify  the main points, and be able to write a brief summary of the article from our notes. These skills are very important and we will read and discuss the text together to support each other, as we begin to further develop our skills in this area.
